Bringing It Back

So its been quite a while since ive written anything here at peterfoti.com and with good reason. My websites that are generating revenue are the real focus of mine, and peterfoti.com is more of a side project. However now that I am a “Full Time Internet Marketer” I figure I can go ahead and start posting here again. The direction of my upcoming posts will be rather sporadic, as im not really sure what my goal is with this blog. Part of me wants to give people tips and tricks on how to earn money online, but in reality many people do not work hard enough to truly make money online, and might subconsciously blame me. Instead, I feel like the best use of this blog is to help other people get their sites off the ground, giving updates about my websites, and maybe a few mmo posts here and there.

All that being said, I have a few sites that I am currently working on, and a few “new” tools that I am using to work on them with. I have learned a lot about SEO in the past 6 months, and I did it by reading information from those who are well respected in the industry, and as always, trial and error. To this day their is no clear cut blue print on how to rank in Google but many people have found a pretty solid way of doing it, so my advice is to seek out those people and learn from them. Though the message is essentially, build a quality site with good content, build backlinks, profit. It really is pretty simple, the issue that many people run into is that they are either not patient enough, or not consistent enough, dont fall victim to one of those pitfalls.

In closing for today, my Buffalo Bills are not looking so hot after week one of the regular season, although I have one good team in the NY Yankees, but who knows how that will end up. Right about now however Ive been up for about 27 hours so its time for some sleep.

Talk with you all later.

Oh Ya Ricky!

Ever since the first day I entered high school, my buddy and I were using the term Oh Ya Ricky to describe anything that was funny or we laughed at. We have always pondered the idea of making a website about it but we were never quite sure of what to put on it, or how it could be successful. Luckily we have that idea and the site is launched.

Oh Ya Ricky.com was designed to allow users the opportunity to do what they do on a normal basis and earn stuff for it. The site itself includes a point system which gives away points to users for playing games, uploading/watching videos, writing a blog and more. The users then take those points to the shop and purchase items in exchange for them. Currently the shop has several gift cards and high end electronics to choose from.

In addition to the points, the site has a very interesting meaning which I won’t spoil for you here on the blog as it would be better if you read it there.

There you have it in a nutshell, I think its a pretty self explanatory site, and I am very excited to be apart of it.

Brad Callen’s SEO LinkVine Review

Anyone who knows anything about internet marketing and how to make money online knows that content and backlinks are the keys to the kingdom. Unfortunately their are only so many free and non black hat ways to go about getting these backlinks, and thus many people fall short in that regard. Luckily for those people however, Brad Callen has just announced the release of his newest internet marketing project, SEO LinkVine and it is due for release on April 27th.

The seo link vine product is setup in such a way to allow two different groups of users to use the site and benefit from it. For starters, the publishers on the site will be able to hookup their blog and receive free content from the sites writers. The sites writers on the other hand will be able to write keyword rich articles, with targeted backlinks which will then be placed on the publishers website. This is a win win for both parties involved in that one person is getting free and unique content, while the other is receiving targeted backlinks which will ultimately move up their site in Google and other search engines.

I am not entirely sure as to whether or not callen has decided on whether or not he will charge for this service, although if I had to guess I would say absolutely. I remember buying his seo elite software a while back for the prize of around $200, only come to find out that it was rather worthless in term of its mass emailer and several other functions. The product had been on the market for about five years and the price never came down, nor did the product get any better, but I digress.

With the release of the new linkvine service, the playing field becomes a bit more level for those that were not previously aware of how to go about finding properly anchored backlinks. Though at the end of the day this product does not replace the need for hard work to achieve success. You can buy all the software, ebooks, and other products that you want, but if you are not willing to work hard and put them to good use, you will never find yourself successful.

I may post more about this new product as the time gets closer, and I can perhaps see an interface or something to explain what its all about and how it is really used from the backend.

Trying to Stay Productive

Posted by | Filed under General | Mar 15, 2010 | Tags: , , , | No Comments

You know, the internet offers some of the greatest opportunities for young and old people alike. Regardless of your passion their is a way to monetize on the internet, which is great for those of us who are not interested in the nine to five lifestyle. For me personally, my passion is literally business. I don’t care much about the nature of the business, I just like to take things from nothing and turning them into something. Right now I am doing that with every single website I create or purchase, and someday I hope to do it on a much larger scale than simple niche websites, but we can talk about goals later.

The reason I am posting today has to deal with staying productive when their are so many distractions around you. For me personally these distractions include Netflix (addicted to Lost now), Xbox, and doing things that normal college kids are supposed to do. Luckily I have my touch screen mobile phone by my side every moment of the day, but its sometimes not enough.

Dealing with distractions is something that everyone must deal with but especially those who make money on the internet, and do not have to leave the house to work. I have picked up some tips along the way that help me and might help you stay productive while working at home.

1. Write down an hourly or daily goal for production. For me this usually means writing X amount of articles for websites that I own/work with/for and not taking time off until I reach it. I know most people say, well I have a mental goal of what I want to achieve on a given day, and thats fantastic, but when you write it you force accountability. Its been published time and time again, writing down your goals will make you a more productive person.

2. Perhaps you should look into having a set aside work place for your online ventures. You see when normal people go to work and sit in their cubicle their only distraction may come from the water cooler, and thus its easier to get work done. Sitting in front of your TV with your laptop on your lap however may prove to be a rather unproductive circumstance.

3. If you are really the type that cannot finish an article without opening your email or facebook page then you might want to look into a blocking program. This particular program will not allow you to visit certain pages that you wished to be blocked from for a certain period of time. I personally do not have this problem, and when I get going I dont usually stop, but the get going part can be the challenge.

The productivity battle is going to vary from person to person, but the one thing that you absolutely should be doing regardless of anything is setting goals. In fact that sounds like a great idea for my next post, stay tuned!
