My attempt at making money with proxies
This past summer I made a short run at making money with proxies and although I did make some money I was hindered by the fact that I was being hammered with China traffic which pays nothing and some reason tears apart your CPU when the users are online. For that reason, I ended up selling my proxy network and I have not worked with proxies since, until now.
I recently checked my domain portfolio and found several unused domain names, many of them LLLL.info domains that I picked up on speculation a while back. Being that I am not currently using these domains and they are not making any money parked I decided to develop them into proxies. When you are making a proxy the domain is truly not important, it comes down to how good you are at marketing the sites.
I plan to chronicle my success/failure with all of my proxies here at Peterfoti.com
To check out the list of all the proxies that I have launched (around 16 in total) head over to Unbl0cker.info and all of the others are linked on the side.
Thus far I have submitted Unbl0cker.info to various top sites, and I have submitted all of the proxies to Proxy.org. They are all outfitted with Adsense on the homepage, and adbrite on the proxified pages. It will be interesting to see how these proxies hold up and whether or not they can be truly profitable.
Be sure to check back in a week or so for an update on how the proxies are doing.

Mostly, Chinese traffic and Iranian traffic is browsing pr0n. Internet usage is heavily monitored in these countries so individuals do not want to get caught doing things that might be considered “immoral”. You should block this traffic using .htaccess file and this sort of site to map addresses: http://www.find-ip-address.org/ip-country/

Ive already blocked Iran and China traffic simply because you get a ton of visits but they do not convert. As for the proxy market being tough, I have a bit enough network now (93 sites) that it will take some time for them to be all blocked by web sense, and smart pricing does not really affect me due to my numbers in network. But I appreciate your comments and will continue to work hard and build up this network.
Note-I have adbrite on proxified pages
