Making money with domains
As of late I have been very busy in the domain name marketplace. For those of you unaware, their is a lot of money to be made in the buying, developing, and selling of domain names. Now a days with newer extensions such as .in and .co.in and with extensions like .us gaining steam, their is quite a future for those picking up domains, developing them, and holding them. For me personally, I think that the best way to go about acquiring names is to first try and hand register them. For instance in the past week I have hand registered things like, WorkoutDrink.com, PineappleSmoothies.com, CigarCutter.us, and more! I have registered around 40 or so in the last week, all of which have solid keyword potential which is the reason behind their planned success.
Once you have gone through the process of finding hand regs, your next step into development is to put a mini site on those domains. My most recent sites include Play Pitch and David Silva both of these sites are using the Joomla CMS and did not take very long to setup. All you need is some HTML know how, and some good article writing, and you are on your way to having an empire of great mini-sites.
Once you have the site setup it is important to optimize it for SEO purposes, as well as buy/exchange links with other websites so that you may rank higher for your given keywords in Google.
This post was not meant as a tutorial, although I think it sort of turned out like that. I will work to make a more comprehensive tutorial for you all about how to monetize domain names in the future, but for now I just got carried away rambling.
In any event, I continue to hand register domains daily, develop them, and build links towards them. What are you up to?
