Long-Short.org | Take your Long URL’s and Make them Shorter
So I have been building mini sites for the past few weeks here and have been keeping my nose clean in terms of buying sites or domains from resellers or end users. I am doing this mainly because I feel that their are still solid names out there to register and with my content writing team I am able to put together high quality sites quickly. However just the other day I was browsing Digital Point when I came across a thread of a user selling their URL shortening site at a relatively cheap price. Being that I received my monthly Adsense payment today, I decided to take the plunge and purchase another site to add to my portfolio, and so Long-Short.org was born.
Why did I buy this site?
In my mind Twitter is the next big phenom web tool, and although this is a theory of mine, it does not stop the fact that messages can only be 140 characters long. So what is a user to do? Well sure their is Tiny URL and other such services but I think that at this point in time that the URL shortening market is still an infant staged market, and because of this I decided to buy my own.
Now every single time I make a post on any blog, or launch a new site I will link it using my shortening service. In doing so I will be able to build up the site without any actual marketing budget to speak of. The more times I use it and allow people to see it, the more likely they are to use it and it becomes a viral tool.
What market do you find to be untapped or unsaturated that you can get your hands on? Think about it!
