Link Building Techniques

So I have been talking a lot about link building in the past few posts and want to get into some additional link building techniques for long term seo. You will often see that I do not incorporate a wide array of link building tools, and I like sticking to the simple ones that work time and time again, although if you search around hard enough your going to found some shady tools that build massive amounts of links that may or may not be safe. In any event, here are the basics of my link building.

Ezine Article Submission
This one is by far the most important to any successful link building campaign. The website at EzineArticles.com is (I believe) a PR 7, and has millions of pages indexed within Google. They keep their articles high quality by screening all of them to ensure quality which is great as a webmaster, knowing that your sites links and articles are not on 2nd tier farms but rather on a high quality platform. Ezine allows you two links per article, and I sometimes will only put one link on the article, to maximize the link juice, but two is still fine. Make sure your using quality anchored text and switching it up constantly.

Go Article Submissions
This is another top notch article directory that I like to submit to with my unique articles. Your getting quality one way back links and although not as solid as Ezine, they are still pretty solid. Not much more to say about go article, but if you are not using them currently I would recommend that you start.

Unique Article Wizard
Once you have an older (aged) website you may want to consider doing some mass article submission for link building. Unique article wizard has you spin your own article content and then it distributes it to thousands of article directories for inclusion. These links are generally much lower quality and I would recommend that you go about this process slowly and not submit more than 5-10 articles per day.

Link Vana, and Other Link Building Networks
Link Vana and other similar networks are rather powerful although they can be a bit spammy as well. I like to use these links on my web 2.0 properties such as hub pages and ezines to boost their link juice, although from time to time I will use it on a money site, its truly up to you. The cost of these services is generally in the hundreds of dollars per month so its not recommended for a newbie, and you do not need it to make money online. If you are going to hard niches and understand the game a bit better and are equipped with a bankroll they are good tools to have.

Web 2.0 Properties
HubPages, InfoBarrell, Squidoo etc are all examples of web 2.0 properties which allow users to create content and link out from it. With these particular sites their is a revenue sharing model in place as well which is nice for residual income, even though the reason you are building them comes from back links.

Their are plenty of link building techniques out there. Some black hat, some white, but whats important is not the tactic itself, but rather the consistency that you show with that tactic. If your posting 1 ezine article a week or a month, you should not expect great results. If you are submitting 1 per day however, you can expect to see your rankings shift.

Work hard and make money, thats the model.

Thank you for great link building tips. I’ve been doing some SEO for our company’s website and I used the directory submission, article submission and blog commenting most. With the use of automatic submission tools, directory submission, article submission and blog commenting are made quick and easy. Yes, writing articles requires time and efforts, but it’s possible to hire a writer to create the articles if one is not good at writing.

Absolutley Julia, I often outsource a good portion of my article writing and perhaps Ill do a post on where to get that done in the future. As far as the other link building methods that you listed, they work but I would make sure that you wait and use those techniques on aged websites as opposed to those you just built.

Thanks for the comments, greatly appreciated! BTW, do you think the Comment LUV plugin is a nice addition to the site?
