Legitimate Home Based Business
If you search the internet long enough you will find a host of mlm and similar home based business offers to run your fingers through and they all look very promising. Unfortunately the programs are almost always filled with empty promises, and your left saying “Like my dad always said, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.” For that reason, I dont havea list of legitimate home based businesses for you to pick from but I do know that their are more opportunities now than ever before.
Here are some ideas to get you started and perhaps you can turn one of them into a full fledged business someday.
Make Money with Pay Per Click
Perhaps you have heard of Google Adsense, or perhaps you have not, either way its a simple program that many people make money with. The concept is that you as a publisher setup a website and display relevant ads which Google provides about the content on your page. Every time somebody clicks on one of those relevant ads, you are paid. For this to work you are going to have to perform proper keyword research before you get started, and make sure you put up enough websites to do some data analysis when the time comes.
Become an Adwords Affiliate
Or any affiliate for that matter, I simply used adwords because Google is the biggest and the baddest. A pay per click affiliate is someone who buys advertisements for $X from a certain price with hopes of making a return on that initial investment from an affiliate company (such as Peer Fly. Their have been kids who have started in the PPC affiliate marketing business with $100 on a parents credit card who are now multi millionaires, and their are also those who have lost quite a bit because they did not know what they were doing. My advice before jumping into PPC affiliate marketing is to read as much as possible to educate yourself and get a mentor, though it can be tough as the market becomes more and more competitive.
When it comes down to it, their is a legitimate home based business opportunity at every step, and its up to you to fight through the noise and pick what is best for you.
If I were going to recommend you something to start out with, I would buy a domain name with GoDaddy.com – The World’s No.1 Domain Name Registrar first. Pick something with a keyword in it that you think you can rank for. I would search for terms that do not have any sites above PR 3 in the top five search results in Google. .com will be best then .org (IMO) then .net if you cannot get one of these three, do not buy it and find something different. You want something with your keyword in it.
Next youll need some web hosting (I use Hostgator and recommend that you do as well)
Once you have your hosting setup, youll need to setup wordpress and the all in one seo plugin to get started. This will outfit you with the basics and allow you to get started. You may also put your advertisements on right away or wait until you are receiving search engine traffic, many say to wait, I say it does not matter, but it does depend on what form of monetization you are using. If your using Adsense, wait, Amazon or affiliate links, put em on right away.
From there, you should create 4-5 500 word articles that are related to your KW.
Once that is done, its all about back links until your ranked #1, but be careful because to many back links to early will get your site sand boxed.
I know I just sort of threw all that at you, I will break some stuff down in the future, but to get your home based business started, that will work.
