As most of you may or may not be aware of, my “real” business is Foti Networks, which is a small search engine optimization company that I started about a year and a half ago. The service I provide involves ranking companies and their websites for terms in Google. For instance if you were a Syracuse NY attorney and wanted to be ranked for the term “syracuse dui lawyer” I could do that for you. Through a process by which I use no black hat methods, I am able to help my clients rank for terms that would otherwise be filled with websites that may or may not be offering services to the searcher.
My most recent client provided medical billing services out of Arizona. They came to me and said they wanted to be ranked for arizona medical billing, and medical billing in arizona. Today they happily site 5 and 6 respectively for those terms, and while I will continue to work towards the goal of having them number one, to go from unranked to 5 or 6 is nice, and will certainly bring in extra traffic to your website long after your PPC campaigns have dried up.
For some, especially those with no prior experience in the field, search engine optimization can seem daunting and at first you might feel as if you get no where fast by doing what that ebook tells you to do. I can assure you that you do not need an ebook to tell you how to rank for keywords in Google. You need two things, content and backlinks, nothing more, nothing less. If you have the links and the content to back it all up, then you are going to find yourself in a favorable situation. Obviously you cannot go out and black hat 10,000 links tomorrow, their is a process by which I have found to be most successful but it takes testing and practice, not reading and watching TV.
